The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the application of accounting principles and practices to a variety of issues and transactions, including general ledger accountability, financial reporting, financial profitability analysis and special projects as assigned.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The Staff Accountant will be involved in all aspects of the month and year end close. The position duties will include:  

  • Preparation and posting of daily/monthly journals, analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and recording all related journal entries
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts involving multiple currencies
  • Identifying, recording and amortizing prepaid assets
  • Identifying and recording applicable expense accruals
  • Maintaining fixed assets ledger and calculating depreciation expense
  • Review, reconciliation and recording of corporate credit card activity
  • Assistance with annual audit and preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Communication and interaction with other departments to ensure proper accounting of purchases and expenses.
  • Manage accounts payable process for “non-trade” expenses
  • Correspondence with vendors
  • Overseeing 1099-process
  • Ad hoc assignments as required

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 4 year accounting degree
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience (1-2 years public accounting experience highly preferred)
  • Experience in performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly organized, attentive to details, proactive and eager to learn
  • Experience liaising with and supporting internal and external parties both in US and abroad
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, vlookup, sumif) required
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently
