The Business Development Associate (Hong Kong) is an exciting entry level position based in our Hong Kong office. The person will be responsible for assisting in building a pipeline of prospects from institutional clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter who can be a fresh Grad or with up to 1-2 years of relevant work experience, who wants to learn about the financial services industry and make a significant contribution to our business

What You'll Do

  • Help create and develop a robust pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Research target industries, sub-sectors and companies in order to understand their information/research needs and pain-points.
  • Generate targeted content from Guidepoint’s network to drive interest in our services.
  • Prospect targets through email and telephone.
  • Schedule prospect meetings/calls.
  • Generate suitable content for meetings with prospects.
  • Develop a strong knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape by prospect profile and be able to effectively articulate our value proposition as appropriate.
  • Provide client/prospect feedback to sales and management.
  • Display initiative and apply thought to research and prospecting processes.

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution is required
  • Strong academic record and extra-curricular achievement
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn
  • Outgoing personality with the ability and willingness to make cold calls, speak with people at all professional levels, including senior management
  • Demonstrable use of the Internet for research and alternative forms of sourcingAbility to communicate effectively and persuasively, both verbally and textually.
  • Mature communicator capable of handling high-profile clients.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to think creatively and prioritise business development opportunities.
  • Initiative and ability to handle increasing responsibility over time.
  • Ability to utilise superior analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
